Donate used clothing and Textiles and support CSHO.
Cochrane Society for Housing Options has partnered with Cleancloth Ltd, to do textile recycling in Cochrane. CSHO will receive a There are three collection bins around town: one at the Swimming Pool in Cochrane (see picture below), one at Spray Lakes Family Sports Centre and one at the old Cochrane Arena. While the bins say ‘clothing collection’ the company accepts anything textile based and is not limited to clothing.
Examples of acceptable items include: bedding, towels, shoes, belts, purses/bags, coats. Products do not have to be in good repair – just clean – missing buttons, broken zippers, tears, are all acceptable. Items that are not wearable are recycled into rags. Wearable clothing is shipped to countries in need.
How does the Cochrane Community benefit from this? In addition to adding another local recycling option, Clean Cloth Ltd.pays CSHO for every pound of product collected. This is a very easy way for Cochranites to support CSHO. Funds raised from the textile collection will be re-invested into housing related programs and services operated by CSHO.
** We are asking that Cochrane residents continue to donate their higher end clothing in good repair to the ‘Clothesline’ which is operated by the Cochrane Activettes.
